Beaufort assists on a turnaround of a child protection care organisation

Utrecht, July 2021

A succesful turnaround has helped to secure future operations.

During a recently completed assignment, we have assisted a child protection care organisation (turnover level of approx. €60m) on the turnaround of its operations. The organisation was facing three urgent issues: 1) declining revenues due to the decreasing number of clients and diminishing remuneration rates, 2) an extensive cost base as a result of large personnel expenses (bulky overhead and a low level of productivity in the operations) as well as significant housing costs due to overcapacity, 3) closure of its youth detention centre.

Beaufort has assisted the client in redefining the strategy, identifying the contribution of the underlying activities, setting-up fair remuneration rates, drafting of a far-reaching cost cutting program amounting €7m, and updating the real estate portfolio plan. In addition, the organisation was actively assisted with communication towards its stakeholders and other parties involved. Finally, Beaufort supported the customer with the concrete implementation of the recovery plan. As a result, the organisation has regained the trust of its stakeholders and therefore has been able to secure its future operations.
